Shortly after the Union Side Mills series, a variation of wood back mills appeared around 1860. The new series was called the Eagle Side Mills. There were 6 sizes, No. 50 being the smallest. No. 90 Eagle Side Mill was a large mill, generally used commercially in stores and hotels.
Out of the Eagle Side Mill series, No. 60 (medium) was the most popular size.
